USA MASTERS OPEN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The USA Masters Open National Championships, is the premier open-registration Men and Women's National Masters Open Basketball tournament dedicated to fostering competitive excellence.  This event is set to take place June 18 - 20, 2027 in Winter Haven, Florida.


The USA Masters Open National Championships will bring together teams from across the United States of America for a world-class competitive experience who meet the age criteria, which is 40 years and above.


Whether you are a weekend warrior or at the top of your game, the USA Masters Open National Championships is a must-do event!

AGE DIVISIONS:

Men: 40+ | 45+ | 50+ | 55+ | 60+ | 65+ | 70+ | 75+

Women: 40+ | 50+ | 55+ | 60+ 


Each Age Division is limited to eight (8) teams.



TEAM REGISTRATION PROCESS


Team registration for the USA Masters Open National Championships is open on a first-come, first-served basis to all teams until capacity is met.  Registration includes basic team and coach information, acknowledgment of tournament standards and team entry fee.



TOURNAMENT STANDARDS


1.  All coaches/bench personnel must be verified prior to competition;

2.  All coaches/bench personnel must abide by the USA Masters Open National Championships coaches code of conduct;

3.  All athletes must be verified as eligible by the age segmentation criteria for the team’s division of competition;

4.  Team rosters may not exceed 15 personnel in total, including all players and coaches.  The roster must include at minimum 1 verified coach and a maximum of 14 players;

5.  Team must be ready to play after 6:00 PM on Friday, June 18, 2027.


TOURNAMENT RULES

The USA Masters Open National Championships is played by FIBA Rules, with appropriate modifications.


SPORTSMANSHIP

The USA Masters Open National Championships endeavors to promote friendship, peace, health and friendly competition.  To this end, we ask all players, coaches, fans and family members to respect fellow competitors, their teams, their fans, officials and volunteers.

Inappropriate behavior and language are not acceptable.  If necessary, appropriate action will be taken.  Please enjoy yourself and help us avoid the need to take any negative action.


ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (in any form) are not allowed in any facility at any time.  This includes all gymnasiums, restrooms, hallways, parking lots and all school grounds.  Please respect and honor these regulations.


INSURANCE

Medical insurance is the responsibility of the team or the individual. 
 USA Masters Open National Championships does not carry medical insurance for any team or individual.


SITE DIRECTORS

A Site Director and his/her team are assigned to each facility.  They are there to oversee the games at that location and to serve you.  Please direct your questions or concerns to them.  They are eager to assist you.


SCHEDULES

Schedules will be posted online June, 2027.


UNIFORMS

All teams must have a light and dark colored set of uniforms, either as reversible jerseys or two (2) separate sets.  Each jersey must have a number on front & back.  There will be no exceptions to this rule.  The penalty will be a technical foul assessed to each player who is not in compliance with the rule. 
Note: Wear light colored jersey if home team and dark colored if visitor.


PRE-GAME PROCEDURES
  • In order to remain on schedule, please: Arrive at least (30) thirty minutes prior to game time & be ready to play by game time.
  • Check-in with Site Director to verify your line-up & player numbers.


GAME & FORFEIT TIME

Game time is forfeit time with no grace period or make-ups.  Gym clocks are not official.


TRAINER SERVICES

Medical taping, minor trainer services and massage services are available during the Games.  Take advantage of these services.  There may be a nominal fee.


ELIGIBILITY

To ensure competitive fairness and player safety, all participants and coaches must meet the following requirements:


MEDALS

In each age division, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to all team members on the first, second and third place teams, respectively. Medals will be awarded immediately following the championship games.

Men 40+ (born 1986 and older)

Men 45+ (born 1982 ad older)

Men 50+ (born 1976 and older)
Men 55+ (born 1971 and older)
Men 60+ (born 1966 and older)
Men 65+ (born 1961 and older)

Men 70+ (born 1957 and older)

Men 75+ (born 1952 and older)




WOMEN'S AGE DIVISIONS


Women 40+ (born 1986 and older)
Women 50+ (born 1976 and older)
Women 55+ (born 1971 and older)
Women 60+ (born 1966 and older)



The Organizer retains the right to merge adjacent age categories in the interest of the competition.
